Mercantile Bank International
A full rebrand for a US bank with global reach — identity, web platform, mobile app, and merchandise, including their branded entry into F4 racing.

Toasty Labs led the rebrand and product design for Mercantile Bank International, a US private bank serving clients across the Americas. The engagement covered a new identity and logomark, a redesigned responsive website, a rebuilt mobile banking app, campaign design for the bank’s F1 Academy initiative, and a branded merchandise system.
The problem: a private bank becoming a digital platform
Mercantile was moving from traditional private banking toward a next-generation financial platform, and the brand had not moved with it. The work had to hold two things at once: the heritage and discretion clients expect from a private bank, and the clarity and speed they now expect from software.
Identity and logomark
We designed a custom logomark expressing Mercantile’s global connectivity and its heritage at the same time — traditional elegance resolved into digital clarity. The result reads as established rather than new, which for a bank is the point, while still working at favicon scale in a mobile app.
Website
We rebuilt the website around speed and clarity for a genuinely mixed audience: private clients, corporate customers, and prospects across several countries. The information architecture is organized by user type rather than by internal department. Interactive tools, custom iconography, and multi-language support carry a global customer base without a separate site per market.
Mobile banking app
We reimagined the mobile experience from the ground up. Account access, transfers, and financial planning tools were rebuilt to be elegant as well as functional, with accessibility and clarity treated as trust signals — in banking, an interface that is hard to read is an interface that is hard to believe.
F1 Academy and the F4 racing campaign
As part of expanding its international footprint, Mercantile launched the F1 Academy, an initiative focused on digital financial literacy in underserved markets across the Americas.
To mark the launch, Mercantile became the first US-based financial institution to enter the F4 racing circuit with a branded team — a deliberate signal of global ambition, aligning the brand with speed and precision.
We developed the complete design system for the livery and the supporting campaign assets, extending the identity into a physical context it had never had to work in. A brand system that survives being wrapped around a race car at speed is a brand system that will survive anything the bank does next.
Merchandise
We designed a merchandise collection spanning executive gifts, retail-ready products, and conference materials, each built to carry the same blend of discretion, trust, and technology as the rest of the identity.
The result
One coherent brand across identity, web, mobile, campaign, and physical product — the visible half of Mercantile’s transition from traditional private bank to digital financial platform.
